HIV Services
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Black Americans make up just 13% of the U.S. population but accounted for approximately 40% of all new HIV diagnoses in 2022.

Among women, Black women represented more than half (53%) of all new HIV diagnoses, with heterosexual contact being the primary mode of transmission. In Florida, the disparities are even more stark; Black heterosexual women experience some of the highest rates of new HIV diagnoses, while Black and Latino men who have sex with men (MSM) account for nearly 75% of all new HIV diagnoses among cisgender men. This data underscores that male-to-male sexual contact is the predominant transmission mode among Black males, while heterosexual contact is the leading mode among Black females. Transgender and Gender-Diverse individuals also face alarmingly high rates of infection, exacerbated by compounding structural barriers such as stigma, housing instability, unemployment, and lack of access to affirming care.
